Gong Hei Fatt Choy!
Dong dong dong chiaaang!! its the lunar new year once again, arrriving with a resounding big bang. what does this mean?! Long public holidays! Yippee! okay, i'm sure we all know that chinese new year is not just all about the red money packets, the delicious food and the numerous parties and celebrations. its about the family. for someone who has been hardly around, given the fact that i've been away from home for the past 3 years, its been such a blessing to spend proper dedicated time with everyone at home. I hardly get to see my family during the week because everyone is either at work, or at school, or spending his entire week at camp (poor shaun boy). although my family has spent a significant proportion of our lunar new year on doing massive chores around the house, it has been an insightful experience. i've come to realise that my family has matured not only in our love for one another, but we've all grown to be more patient and accomodating to each other's needs and preferences. my relationship with my brothers has improved tremendously. i'm so proud of both of them, and its such a joy to see them transforming daily from little rascals, into the God fearing man.

Now, onto the chinese new year celebrations. Well, my family spent our morning and afternoon doing the customary visiting routine. and then it was back home for more left over steamboat for dinner! haha.. don't you reckon steamboat always taste much better after its left overnight? After dinner, there was a gathering at Lizzie's place for desserts and coffee/tea. Oh and WAH i must sound this out. Our dearest Eugene teo was suppose to drive to my place n pick me up at about 9pm, but i ended up waiting for him for more than 45mins, and we were super late for the gathering which was suppose to start at 8. i was even falling asleep on the couch, watching fantastic four on cable while waiting for him. it didnt help when we got lost on our way to serangoon gardens, and to think i even printed a map from streetdirectory.com.sg, knowing how eugene is really bad with directions. okok i better stop rambling before he finds out. haha. After lizzie's place...yang, euges and myself headed down to the Cannery at Clarke Quay. As we were talking and catching up on good times, i realised how badly i miss perth. sighs. i want to go back. :( sobs.
