Happy feet

you could say that shoes are my ultimate weakness. i lurrve shoes... they just make me happy! I must confess, i've purchased 8 pairs of shoes in an approximate span of 4 weeks. Okay, i know thats nothing to be proud of. My dad complains endlessly about how everyone else in the family doesn't have space for their own shoes because of me. Anyhoos, lookie at what i stumbled upon.. Eleanor Gosch Keds (above). The bold colours and simple animal graphic designs are just so appealing. Aren't they just darling. Just looking at them makes me feel happy already.

Gong Hei Fatt Choy!

Dong dong dong chiaaang!! its the lunar new year once again, arrriving with a resounding big bang. what does this mean?! Long public holidays! Yippee! okay, i'm sure we all know that chinese new year is not just all about the red money packets, the delicious food and the numerous parties and celebrations. its about the family. for someone who has been hardly around, given the fact that i've been away from home for the past 3 years, its been such a blessing to spend proper dedicated time with everyone at home. I hardly get to see my family during the week because everyone is either at work, or at school, or spending his entire week at camp (poor shaun boy). although my family has spent a significant proportion of our lunar new year on doing massive chores around the house, it has been an insightful experience. i've come to realise that my family has matured not only in our love for one another, but we've all grown to be more patient and accomodating to each other's needs and preferences. my relationship with my brothers has improved tremendously. i'm so proud of both of them, and its such a joy to see them transforming daily from little rascals, into the God fearing man.

Now, onto the chinese new year celebrations. Well, my family spent our morning and afternoon doing the customary visiting routine. and then it was back home for more left over steamboat for dinner! haha.. don't you reckon steamboat always taste much better after its left overnight? After dinner, there was a gathering at Lizzie's place for desserts and coffee/tea. Oh and WAH i must sound this out. Our dearest Eugene teo was suppose to drive to my place n pick me up at about 9pm, but i ended up waiting for him for more than 45mins, and we were super late for the gathering which was suppose to start at 8. i was even falling asleep on the couch, watching fantastic four on cable while waiting for him. it didnt help when we got lost on our way to serangoon gardens, and to think i even printed a map from streetdirectory.com.sg, knowing how eugene is really bad with directions. okok i better stop rambling before he finds out. haha. After lizzie's place...yang, euges and myself headed down to the Cannery at Clarke Quay. As we were talking and catching up on good times, i realised how badly i miss perth. sighs. i want to go back. :( sobs.

it's been a hard day's night, and i've been working like a dog.

mmhmm.. back to the blog i come! yes, update i shall. a long time, it has been. Awfully much has happened, i don't even know where to begin. ok for one, i feel like i've been travelling all over singapore in just the past 3 months at EY. right now i'm being posted to 2 companies all the way at Jurong East and Toh Tuck Link. Now that is mad far from where i live. Every morning i take the train from simei all the way to jurong east, and yes, i actually counted the number of stops too.. 20 to be exact. sit until backside pain, and that only happens if i'm 'lucky' enough to even get a seat in the midst of the morning rush hour. another thing, i'm so broke from spending so much money on taxi fares because of all the running around from one company to another... and whats worse we can only claim all additional expenses at the end of the month. I'm mad broke. :(

its so funny how i had been complaining and whinning to my colleagues about my posting when i first found out about it. but right now, looking back, it wasn't that bad. i kinda enjoyed myself this week, well except for the long working hours lah. i got to learn alot.. although much of it was done under pressure because my manager had assigned me to one of the client's subsidiaries all by myself. whats worse i had an extremely tight deadline...where i had to submit an entire file for review in less than a week! thank goodness, my senior was really patient and she helped me out a great deal with the more complicated sections. phew.

lunch time. i guess you could say that was the most enjoyable part of the day, other than going home to my comfy bed after a long day's work. Coincidentally, i met Grace one day on my way to lunch and we started meeting up for lunch for a couple of times this week. she just started work at Accenture, and her client's place was in the same international business park area as the company i was auditing for. oh i'm telling you, i had the best yong tau foo at one of the foodcourts there. I even ate the same thing 2 days in a row. Shiokers. hahaha.

oh gosh, i've been blabbering all about work. i guess thats the only thing worth talking about now because thats the only thing i do. work. :( depressing. I'm really looking forward to the weekend. i'm having dinner with my colleagues tomorrow at city hall and then i guess there's the after dinnner activities as always. my friday night was already burnt out at work, stayed back till 11pm!! sheesh. i'd to work 2 late nights in a row. :( alright, im off to bed. really tired and i'm having a headache.

Goodnight world.
