the name game

Okay, i have been laughing so hard for the past 10 minutes that i just have to put this down. I was just having an msn conversation with cheeky and he was just asking me for Brandon's contacts. Brandon is a friend who just arrived from singapore a couple of weeks back, and is currently pursuing his 1st semester at UWA. Anyway Cheeky was telling me about what happened during the soccer match they had this afternoon at school.

Cheeky says:
do you have brandon's msn?
Cheeky says:

steffi says:
Is this for soccer?!

Cheeky says:
haha....soccer/fellowship same thing
Cheeky says:
you know ah. i couldnt remember his name, so i kept on calling him "norman!" or "bobby!"
Cheeky says:

steffi says:

steffi says:

steffi says:

Cheeky says:

Cheeky says:

Cheeky says:

steffi says:
did you manage to get his name right eventually?

Cheeky says:
i asked mitch like 4 times within an hour
heh heh.
Cheeky says:
Bobby Tan.... he's a rock.
Cheeky says:
Bob the Rock.

steffi says:
Bobby is such a Doofus name lah!

Cheeky says:

Cheeky says:

Cheeky says:

hellooo again. i decided to ditch the mugging mode for abit and get into the blogging zone. Everyone has this notion that with deferred papers you have way more time on your hands to study. Technically, thats true. However, its harder when you have been on holiday for such a long time now.. more so when everybody around you are still in that holiday mode. it has been rather difficult for me to turn down a few social activities just because i have to s.t.u.d.y! Take for instance, today at church, everyone wanted to go to fremantle for lunch after service.. i on the other hand ended up at good o' Taurus. For the benefit of those who don't know what Taurus is, its this asian hawker foodcourt just next to church, which is also deemed as the go-to place when we need to have a chop chop curry-pok meal especially when assignments or exams due. I can't believe i missed out on the vibrant freo markets, the delicious crepes, the sea breeze and sunshine...

Oh on another note.
Guess who's in town?!?

Thats Ben my good old jc friend. He's on a holiday here with Ah kow, Darrell & Harley and are staying over at Kenny's smashing apartment. I recieved a strange phonecall this afternoon from this weird guy claiming to be somebody who i apparently gave my no. to at some club. Ha! i don't club at all! Nice try Ben! You should have just faked a thick indian accent and introduced yourself as a cow salesman named Muttusami s/o lakshaman I might have believed you then. Anyhoos, he popped by the house, met cherie steph & cheeky who were at home, uttered a whole lot of rubbish (which embarrassed me quite abit)... and yeah we just caught up! Have i mentioned that i love surprise visits?!

School has started! Its just lectures this week, tutes only kick in next week and all i can say is, its gonna be one hell of a semester. Judging by the units i'm doing this sem, it'll be a good thing if i don't peng-san(faint) halfway into the term. Final semester already!! its scary just thinking of it, soon it will be finding a job, working monsterous & insane hours which will eventually lead to a big fat z.e.r.o in whatever social life i could possibly have. hence i'd better enjoy every ounce of this, whatever u call it.. 'social' life now that i'm still in school and still have friends. everyone i meet in school has been asking me about what i intend to do after i graduate.. and i can never ever answer them with great certainty. Honestly, i cannot be absolutely sure if i really do want to stay or just pack up and go home for good. Most of them are intending to get their PRs because accounting degrees give you sufficient points to get a PR directly, some are going back home to find jobs, some staying on for Honors or intending to get their masters. I'm never any good when it comes to making such humongous decisions such as this.

anyhoos, my deferred paper is scheduled to be on tues, 1 Aug. Let me add that it is absolutely terrible to study when everyone else around you are bumming around doing nothing. I just hope the lecturer uses exactly the same questions as the final. Suwen has volunteered to circle all the important questions (whatever she can possibly remember) that came out in the final. Wah, but then again, i highly doubt it'll even be the same. Rah! Stephanie Lai Shiyue, u'd better get your act together. Focus or you'll end up like a locust. Once that paper is out of the way, i am going to see that i make a list of things i want to accomplish by the end of this semester. Okay, one of them is to have a popiah party! haha.. i am going to learn to make Popiah filling and the kway pai ti shells. I was having huge Kway pai ti cravings last night while talking to Cheeky on msn, it was so bad i abandoned my studying for about half an hr to google for popiah and kway pai ti recipes.

Ouchh, the old sores on my lips are starting to hurt again which means its time to apply more cream! i spent $17.95 on a small tube of Zovirax cream.. i'm talking 4 cm kind of small. Hokay, time for me to scoot outta here. Got to leave for class soon and its starting to pour outside. Talk about A.L. ! Sheesh.

ok bye.

i'm back!

from church camp that is, which was by the way held down south at Bussleton over the weekend. Being a family camp, we didn't have all the exhausting games and a strict timetable of activities to follow. it was pretty much a free & easy, do whatever you like kind of a camp, we even had to settle our own breakfasts and lunches. as it was my first time attending a family camp, i didn't expect it to be all that relac-1-corner. i've been for so many youth/campus camps over the years, so i must say this family camp has certainly been a change. No dirty games, No groupings, No strict rules to sit with people whom you hardly know over meals, No nasty wake up morning calls in the wee hours of the morning, none of that... zilch. Nevertheless, it was a reeeefreshing change.

The whole aim of the camp was for the church body to get to know Ps Benny, who is our new senior pastor, alot better as he shared the dreams and visions he has for the church as a whole. There weren't any biblical teaching sessions or workshops like most camps, but just pure listening to a man's, our pastor's heart beating with a growing passionate desire for God's people. i just wish i could be here long enough to see those visions come to pass. sigh. to think that this annual camp would mark my last one here in perth. sobs.

i want moreeee!!

i didn't get to take many photos this year round because i've lost my picture appetite you see. And for the photos i did take turned out really badly! yes okay.... i admit its mainly because i look horrible in all of them.

i do realise that this entry has been long overdue. and so i would like to apologise to all me faithful blog readers out there for the lack of updates ( yes cherie, i hear u). i've been interning at church this past week, and have been rather busy and extremely tired to even check up on this lil' space of mine. i've been eagerly wanting to blog and upload photos i took last week of all the random hoooliday happiness (before i started interning), but each night i sit down at my desk infront of the computer ready to start, i would just fall asleep because i'm so tired after working at church for the entire day! i'm talking lying face flat on my desk sleeping and not waking up till some hours later.

anyhoos.. pictures!!
